Karen Goers' Butter Cookies


  • 1/2 Pound Butter, Softened

  • 1 Cup Sugar

  • 2 Cups Flour

  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda

  • Festive or Themed Sprinkles

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar.

  2. Add the baking soda and flour. Mix well.

  3. Separate dough in half.

  4. Roll each half into a long roll. Once the roll is formed, roll this in any decorations you may be adding (i.e sprinkles or jimmies)

  5. Wrap the dough rolls in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.

  6. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  7. Slice the dough rolls into 1/8 inch slices.

  8. Place each slice on a cookie sheet.

  9. Bake 15 minutes.

  10. Remove and place on cooling rack.
